Synchronized Goldfish Video - Busted!

Sangent over at nerdnirvana.org did a short post today on Fish School, including a link to the promo video of Comet. But was really caught my eye was this expose video on the likely explanation for the (in)famous Japanese synchronized goldfish video.

Recall in this post, I speculated it was a hoax, perpetrated by cruelly forcing the fish to swallow magnets and then manipulating their movement with other magnets under the table. The smart fraudbusters at snoopes.com seemed to agree with me.

I'm still not completely certain that magnets was how the original video was made, but this video shows that sadly, it is quite plausible an explanation. Please don't try this at home. And no, this has nothing to do with the legitimate, and fish-friendly, training we encourage here at Fish School, which is fun for the fish and its human trainer!
