This morning I did a radio interview for The Rude Awakening Show with Bulldog and the morning crew from WOCM FM98.1 out of Ocean City, Maryland. I didn't time it, but it was quite a long interview, at least 10 minutes.
At first they were skeptical, thinking that if you simply threw all the equipment from the R2 Fish School Kit into the tank, the fish would eventually do all the tricks just by chance, allowing you to splice it all together to compile a video like our 30-sec promo video.
I assured them this was not the case, and that fish training is totally real. They were still skeptical, so I used it as an opportunity to show off the new real-time webcam. Luckily I had a long enough cord on my phone that I could pull it over to Comet's tank.
First I stuck my face in front of the webcam and waved. Then I put Comet through his paces performancing a few of his favorite tricks - chimney, limbo and soccer, while Bulldog and company (and presumably some listeners) looked on over the web.
By the end of the training session, Bulldog finally admitted that not only was it real, it was also pretty cool. Nice to convince another skeptic :-)
Tanya, the shows producer, promised to send me a recording of the show and I'll try to share a link to it when she does.
Update: Tanya sent me the segment. It is 9 minutes long - Listen for yourself!
